Calculation of electric field and current induced inside a human body when exposed to an electromagnetic field
Investigation Committee on Electric Field and Current Induced in a Human Body Exposed to Electromagnetic Fields

It has recently attracted much attention on electric field or current induced inside a human body when exposed to an electromagnetic field. The background for this is firstly concern on the possible health effects of electromagnetic fields (usually called “EMF” issues), and secondly their positive application to medical treatment or new research subjects.

The Technical Report reviews various aspects related to this topic in various frequency ranges, such as the state of things in the induction of electric field, current and generated heat, calculation methods of these values, as well as results of comparative calculation for some selected model arrangements. The review covers a wide range of frequency from very low frequency used for commercial power to high frequency for cellular phones near 1 GHz, also including intermediate one applied for IH cookers.
