To realize vector control of the IPMSM, an encoder for detecting rotor position is used because it is necessary to control currents in accordance with the position of the rotor. However, there are problems of the cost of the position sensor, size of the apparatus and wiring of the signal line. Therefore, many sensorless control methods without using a position sensor are proposed.
We have proposed a simple sensorless method based on the extended electromotive force (EMF) .The rotor speed is estimated by the output voltage of the d-axis PI current controller without using the disturbance observer. We discuss the stability of the proposed method. The root loci of a linear model and transient responses obtained by non-linear model and experiments are demonstrated.
