With the installation of renewable energy and electricity liberalization, Voltage and Reactive Power Control (VQC) for the maintaining the voltage stability is expected to become more important processes. VQC is achieved by the power factor adjustment of the generator, the interconnection and parallel-off of the phase modifying equipment at the transformer substation and the change of the transformer tap.
In this paper, we discuss the determining method of optimal control quantity of the phase modifying equipment using Branch and Bound Method. In addition, the continuous relaxation problem at the each subproblem of Branch and Bound Method are solved the using the active set method. The effectiveness of the proposed method is evaluated through computational simulation.
