Recently, type 2 diabetes (T2DM) is rapidly increasing worldwide. It is known that T2DM in East Asians including Japanese is characterized by dysfunction of beta cell and impairment in insulin secretion from pancreatic beta cells. Thus, the elucidation of the mechanisms of insulin secretion is important for the understanding of the pathophysiology of the disease and for the treatment and the development of drugs for T2DM. In this research, we constructed a simulation model of insulin granule dynamics in pancreatic beta cell that is newly proposed by using tensor field based on empirical and also biological knowledge. Moreover, through computational experiments, the validity of the proposed model is shown.
