◎Tomomi Nomura,Yasue Mitsukura(Keio University)
In this study, we investigate adult readers' impressions of picture books and the impacts on their evaluations. Since picture books become diversified in Japan, there has been great interest in picture books across various generations, which indicates that picture books are not just for children but for adults. Therefore, we reveal what impressions adult readers get from picture books and how they rate the picture books according to the impressions. In the experiment, we carry out a questionnaire about Japanese million-selling picture books. The results show that each of picture books conveyed a variety of impressions on adult readers, which led to different evaluations.
