High-speed and large-scale computation in electromagnetic analysis
Research Committee on fast and large-scale computation in electromagnetic analysis
Recently, the technology on electromagnetic computation has improved drastically in recent years for design and analysis in electromagnetic devices and practical use of the technology has been advanced. However, there are remaining issues in the improvement of analytical accuracy, the optimization analysis, coupling analysis with the heat structure problems. Especially, it is hoped to perform a large-scale analysis with large degrees of freedom at high speed. As the analysis method for this, the multigrid method, the fast multipole method, the adaptive meshing and the parallel computation are hopeful view in recent years. This report presents the searched results of current status and analytical examination of these technologies. The report also presents the speed-up techniques by the improvement of the conjugate gradient method and Newton-Raphson method, which have been used widely. To make the numerical analysis highly accurate, the accurate modeling of the magnetic materials is also necessary and searched in the report. Finally, the integral formulations and the analytical solutions, which are frequently used for the electromagnetic field analysis, are reported. These will be useful for not only practical use in the evaluation of simple electromagnetic problems but also the development and verification of the electromagnetic analysis programs.
