of Computing Method for Linear Electromagnetic Systems
This report describes results of investigation aimed for rearranging and systematization of linear electromagnetic motors, actuators and analysis techniques applied to them. And this report shows concrete application examples which include analytic techniques used for a long time, systematizes those in each type of linear systems. In addition, this report describes a trend of analysis techniques of linear electromagnetic systems from overview of past five times of LDIA, the international symposium on linear drives for industry applications.

Various techniques have been made for analysis of linear electromagnetic systems. More realistic evaluation of electromagnetic systems becomes possible, by improvement of electromagnetic field numerical analysis technology of recent years. However, computing time becomes huge by detail and large-scale modeling, so simple and easy evaluation techniques to reduce calculation time and maintain precision are required. Conventional equivalent circuit technique, analytic technique, and analysis technique which combined numerical analysis technology and a general-purpose simulator are keys as techniques to evaluate the whole system.
