Yasushi Ono, The 112th President of the IEEJ
2025/06/04

It is my great honor to serve as the 112th President of the Institute of Electrical Engineers of Japan (IEEJ). Over the next year, I will do my best to contribute to the institute with all members for its further development.
Currently, in the midst of the global warming countermeasures, especially the demand for carbon neutrality, the role of the IEEJ is becoming increasingly important, which covers cutting-edge science and technology from the introduction of renewable energy and innovative new energy to the transportation, storage and consumption of energy, and brings together experts in “electricity” to create an advanced energy information society using IoT, AI and big data analysis. We will continue to improve the value and appeal of the IEEJ by promoting dialogue with IEEJ members of diverse generations, genders and backgrounds, the many IEEJ supporters in Japan and Asia, and finally with society. If we can reconsider the small number of female and overseas members as a new growth opportunity, promote dialogue and support, and then turn it into a new force, there is a possibility that we can put the IEEJ on a growth track even with the declining population. I intend to turn ensuring diversity into growth, enrich dialogue with society, and strive to make the IEEJ grow in both activities and number of members. I would appreciate the support and cooperation of all members.
